Roman Thermae VarnaThe unique architectural monument (magnificent baths) is in the territory of the ancient city of Odessos (Varna) declared an architectural reserve. The thermae extend over an area of 7,500 sq m and give an idea about the building and architectural traditions, characteristic of the great upsurge of Odessos in Roman times. The building was made of mixed masonry, whereby the strips of bricks included between four and six rows of bricks. The sewerage network is symmetrical and consists of vaulted canals, incorporated into the thickness of the foundations. A great number of marble elements enriched architecturally the facades and the interior.
