Pleven PanoramaPleven Epopee 1877, more commonly known as Pleven Panorama, is a panorama located in Pleven, city in northern Bulgaria, depicting the events of the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-78, specifically the five-month Siege of Pleven which made the city internationally famous and contributed to the Liberation of Bulgaria after five centuries of Ottoman rule. It was constructed in honor of the 100th anniversary of these epic events and was officially unveiled on 10 December 1977 and is one of the largest panoramas in the world today. The panorama expanded the already existing Skobelev Park, which is located on the site where the battle took place. For the decoration 11 Russian and two Bulgarian artists were engaged to work on the paintings, plastics and architecture. At present, Pleven's Epopee is the most recognizable symbols of the town of Pleven and a national landmark.
