BratsigovoThe town of Bratsigovo is situated in the east part of Bratsigovkso- Peshterskata valley at an altitude of 420 meters. It is located 23 km away from Pazardzhik and 7 km east from the town of Peshtera. It was founded in the 16th century . Its name is mentioned in the occasion of the counting in 1520-1530 in “ Rumeli Idzheman Tefteri” and in the register of the dzhelepkeshanite from 1576 under the name Bratsig and Barachigovo. The historians presume that the settlement was located initially in the Dreneto Area and had the name Prevren , which is reminded till now from the name of the bridge- Prevrenski Bridge, but because of the often attacks of the Ottoman Turks its citizens left it and founded the town where it is now. Later in the 17th century from the Nevrokopski region there came other settlers who brought a revolutional spirit.
