Red ChurchThe church used to be one of the most representative early Christian churches in terms of architecture. It has been declared a monument of culture of national importance. It is about 1.5 km away from the Pastousha district in Peroushtitsa. Just separate walls have to date been preserved from the church, dated to the 6th century. It was called the Red Church, because of its colour, the result of the red concrete holding together the bricks. The church had been elaborately decorated, and its floor had been covered by mosaics. Up to a certain height, the walls had been tiled, and murals were painted above.
