Day 1. Arrival

Day 2. Sofia – Koprivshtitsa museum town – Troyan

Continue with the tour of Sofia in the morning. After lunch - departure for Koprivshtitsa museum town situated in the heart of the Sredna Gora Mountain Range. Tour in the town famous for its numerous museums, old stone bridges and walls, wooden yard gates, more than 120-year-old buildings and courtyards in their original colours. Overnight in the town of Troyan.

Day 3. Troyan – Veliko Tarnovo

Morning visit of Troyan Monastery – the 3rd largest in Bulgaria and proceed to Veliko Tarnovo via Beklemeto mountain pass. Tour of Veliko Tarnovo town with visit to the medieval fortress of Tsarevets, the Old Marketplace – nowadays the street of crafts and workshops - Samovodska Charshia. Late afternoon walk in the museum village of Arbanassi. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.

Day 4. Veliko Tarnovo – Kazanlak – Plovdiv

Departure for Etara – Bulgaria’s open-air museum of authentic traditional crafts, created to preserve the appearance and the spirit of the old time Bulgarian mountain villages and the manufacturing traditions of the region for the future generations. Via Shipka mountain pass – crossing the Central and most beautiful part of the Balkan mountains to Shipka memorial church. Around noon - arrival in Kazanlak – the centre of the Valley of Roses, known as well as the Valley of the Thracian kings. Visit Goliama Kosmatka Thracian Tomb ( believed to be the tomb of the Thracian King Sevt 3rd – 5th-3rd c BC ) and the copy of Kazanlak Thracian Tomb UNESCO site ( if interested to visit the original – supplement 10 euro per person ). Departure for Plovdiv. Arrival after 1,5 hours. Check in and dinner at the hotel.

Day 5. Plovdiv

Tour of the Old Town of the city of Plovdiv – an imposing open-air museum, situated on the three hills of the ancient Trimontium. Visit to the Ancient Theatre (a well-preserved Roman amphitheatre), the Ethnographic Museum, and some other interesting sites. Departure for the Bachkovo Monastery – the 2nd largest monastery in Bulgaria, connected with the history of the 3rd Crusade. Return to Plovdiv and overnight.

Day 6. Plovdiv – Rila Monastery – Sofia

Departure for the Rila Monastery - the most famous and the most fascinating monastery in Bulgaria, under UNESCO protection. Tour of the monastery and visit to the monastery church, museum, and kitchen, known as Magernitsa. Evening arrival in Sofia. Overnight.
