We have chosen great roads in the Rhodope mountains at an altitude of approx 2000 m. While cycling we enjoy the incredible beauty of the landscapes – high ridges, and deeply cut, excavated valleys, dizzying karst gorges and lovely coniferous woods. The Rhodopes hide also a fairy-tale world of caves and we visit some of them – the Yagodina and the Devil`s throat. Our tour starts from Bansko – the proud of Pirin mountain and continues through the most scenic part of the Rhodopes – the Western part with its breathtaking gorges, nature phenomenons like the Wonderful bridges and some old-time villages where life goes with its own rythm. Here we will touch the authentic rural life of the local people with their home-made food and old style of transportation – with donkey or horse-car.
